Actor Andrew Koenig, who made appearance in the late-80s ABC television series "Growing Pains," was found dead in a park in Vancouver, Canada after his disappearance some 15 days ago, it was reported Thursday.

Local police department said the 41-year-old star apparently committed suicide due to longtime depression and despondency. He last made contact with his parents, "Star Trek" actor Walter Koenig and actress Judy Levitt via mobile phone and then afterwards shut down the phone. He was last seen in Vancouver, and was due to return to his California home two days later.

Koenig, who is the son of "Star Trek" actor Walter Koenig, who played Checkov, had a hard time after his "Growing Pains" fame.

Koenig was reported missing around Valentine's Day 2010, and his parents had issued a statement asking the public for help in locating their son.

His body was found Feb. 25, in Canada.

Andrew Koenig, the son of Star Trek TOS star Walter Koenig, was found dead Thursday of an apparent suicide. Friends and Family of Andrew went to 1,000 acre Stanley Park on Thursday and made the discovery of Andrew's body themselves, according to the Boston Globe. They found Koenig's body in a heavily wooded area 100 feet of what is called The Bridal Path. It could not be seen from walking along a path.

Walter Koenig was nearby when his son's body was discovered.

Fans, media and authorities alike had all come together over the last week in search of Koenig, who vanished on Valentine's Day and then missed a flight home to Los Angeles two days later. Reports later leaked that Vancouver police classified the actor as being "despondent" upon his disappearance, that he had suffered from depression, and had mailed a letter to his father before vanishing that gave the family cause for concern. As friends and family feared the worst, his Hollywood peers, including Alyssa Milano, Kevin Smith, Alyson Hannigan and Sarah Silverman, all used Twitter to voice concern and ask for help locating the actor.

Dawn Brancheau has died after being attacked by killer whale, Shamu at the SeaWorld park in Orlando, Florida.

Some people who were there said the whale, called Tilikum, grabbed trainer Dawn Brancheau from the side of the pool and pulled her into the water.

However, local police said she may have slipped and fallen into the pool.

Mrs Brancheau had worked with killer whales for 16 years. This is the third time Tilikum has been involved in the death of a human.

Current Olympians and others in the ski community are mourning the loss of professional free skier C.R. Johnson, who died in a fall while skiing a steep chute at California's Squaw Valley.

Johnson, 26, who has competed in the Winter X Games, was skiing with a group of friends when he fell while trying to negotiate a "very, very tight, rocky area," said Jim Rogers, a member of the Lake Tahoe-area resort's ski patrol.


R Johnson was killed when he was skiing at Squaw Valley, California. CR Johnson 26, fell many hundred yards just below the entry before he fell through the rocks. He caught an edge on rocks while entering the Light Towers area, above the Cornice II lift.

CR Johnson was attended immediately by the Ski Patrons but they failed to save Johnson. He was even wearing a helmet but succumbed to injuries.

Witnesses also thought Tili was acting strange during the performance by not taking direction by the trainers.
