Airhostess Training course in Mumbai, Bangalore, Goa, Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad
Question: My friend is doing her graduation in Goa. She wants to become an airhostess. How does she go about it? Are there good institutes in Goa, Bangalore or Mumbai? Will work experience help her?
Answer: Aspiring airhostesses do not require any specialised training. Airlines prefer to train them in-house so they just look for the right candidate with potential for being trained. Your friend would find it productive to keep in touch with the local newspapers which would carry notifications of cabin crew recruitment. She has to ensure that she fulfils the requirements listed and keeps ready a passport sized photograph and an updated resume so that she can immediately respond. The typical requirements for airhostess posts are, normal eyesight, pleasing personality, clear complexion and communication skills. Normally, women between 18-27 years with the above qualities are invited to apply. They are required to be above 5’ 3” in height (or 157 cms as mentioned by some airlines) with weight in proportion to height. Fluency in Hindi and English is essential.
Experience in customer services, hospitality or allied industries would count in her favour. You can check the openings through the websites of the various airlines.
