Im an engineering graduate into manufacturing pharma machines. Is MBA good for me

pharmaceutical manufacturing industries drug
Question: Pharma machinery

I am a mechanical engineering graduate working in a company manufacturing pharma machines. Is there a suitable course in management? Would you suggest any other postgraduate course for upgrading my portfolio?

Answer: If you are interested in enhancing your qualifications in the line of your work experience relating to pharma, you may consider MBA. If you wish to do a full time programme and can get into a reasonably reputed business school, you would be able to take advantage of placement from campus.

On the other hand, if you would like to continue working, you could consider the three-year part-time MBA after two years of work experience, as it would help you to keep working and at the same time improve your prospects for advancement. If neither option is possible, try distance education MBA, which would demand tremendous self discipline and application to complete successfully.

At this point of time, MBA, with marketing as a specialisation appears ideal. Alternatively, you may consider some other specialisation or pursue MBA programmes that are targeted only at engineering graduates such as offered by the IIT Schools of Management. If you are interested in specialising in materials management, consider courses offered in Materials Management. Suggestions are indicative.
