Angel Wing Tattoos - What is the Meaning Behind Angel Wing Tattoos?

Angel Wing tattoos often symbolize spirituality and protection. Somewhere during the olden times, the painters, stain glass artists and calligraphers would often create some illuminated pages in the bible, and will include some wings, a seraph and a nymph that were said to have come to the earth. The reasons behind these were not found out, or were probably lost in time.

In the modern art, the tradition of using the angel's wings has continued, and in fact, you cannot find any angel without any pair of wings in them. Perhaps the artists just want to show the angel's special powers and have no way of depicting them but by the form of a human being.
And since we all are aware that heaven can be found up above us, so they have assumed that the angels have wings as their means of traveling from heaven to earth. And this perhaps is the reason behind the symbolic of these tattoos. It was never known where this theory came from, but today it is clear that anyone with a pair of wings is a special creature that came from God.

Elayne Angel is said to be the very first person to have a full tattoo of a pair of these wings on her back. She was credited as someone who has started all this hype of having a pair of angel wings as tattoo. She has the original pair of these at the back part of her body. She has a very beautiful full tattoo wings on her back that was done in black ink.

She claimed that she is more than happy than any other person in this world who has incorporated this design into their own tattoo in their body. Furthermore, she hopes that people will not copy her own angel wings tattoo but instead, make a unique creation of their own.
